Nature in Chyszówki: Mogielica Nature Reserve, the peak itself, the Śmigły-Rydz Pass and the Zbójnicki Stół rock, four mountain places.
Chyszówki lies in Dobra municipality and gives access to the highest part of the Beskid Wyspowy. What links all four places is nature, not buildings.
What does the Mogielica reserve protect?
The Mogielica Nature Reserve covers the summit area on 50.44 ha, across the municipalities of Słopnice and Dobra. Mogielica itself is 1,170.2 m high, and locals call its summit the Kopa.
Why was the reserve created?
The reserve was established in 2011 to protect the capercaillie and its habitat, as well as other rare bird species and rock formations in the summit area. It is a faunal reserve, so quiet and not disturbing animals matter most. When you climb, keep the noise down and stay on the trail.
Where can you see the rock and the pass?
Zbójnicki Stół is a small sandstone rock on the ridge, while the Śmigły-Rydz Pass lies lower, between Łopień and Mogielica. The rock stands right beside the green trail, so you can look in on the way to the summit without a big detour.
