"Through the Wall" is an event as part of Polish Cinema Day, taking place on 11.11.2026 at 16:15 at Małopolskim Centrum Kultury SOKÓŁ in Nowy Sącz (Piotra Kosińskiego Hall, small cinema hall). It tells the story of Wiesława Pajdak and Jerzy Śmiechowski.
In November 1947, Wiesława Pajdak was arrested for her activities in the anti-communist underground and imprisoned on Rakowiecka Street. A few days later, Jerzy Śmiechowski was placed in the neighboring cell. One night, they began communicating through the wall using Morse code. Remarkably, this is how they met.
