"School of Executioners" is a performance about hierarchy, power, education, and mechanisms of obedience. It begins in a grotesque school where future executioners learn their trade. The premise raises questions about what theatre investigates as "first principles" and what tools it employs in doing so.
Torture instruments quickly cease to be literal. They become metaphors for language, system, ideology, and social mechanisms of pressure. In a world with professors and students, with school rules, the play inverts the established order—not to deny it, but to reveal its true proportions. The story shows how easily one can confuse principle with thoughtlessness, and obedience with lack of reflection.
The performance combines humor, irony, and philosophical reflection. Laughter is meant to lead to questions: who establishes the rules of the game, who carries the banner and to where, and do the "tools" we use truly mean only what we have grown accustomed to? The premise defines the piece as theatre of form and language.
