The Carol Festival We've All Been Waiting For!

"The Braid. A Christmas Eve Tale" (Джереґеля. Коляда) is a Christmas mystery presented as a theatrical performance featuring holiday songs, dance, and narrative. The Great Ancestress, revered by ancestors even before the birth of Jesus Christ, serves as the narrator. The event will take place on January 6, 2027 at 2:00 PM in the theatre hall of ICE Kraków Congress Centre. The story does not deny the existence of Jesus Christ. It leads to the day when a blessing from Heaven descended upon the world shrouded in frost. The Great Ancestress is supported by carolers who together sing, dance, and rejoice as happiness dwells in their hearts. The performance will feature well-known carols as well as lesser-known pastorales and New Year songs (shchedrivky) from various regions of Ukraine, including: • God Is Born (Бог ся рождає) • News Today in Bethlehem (Во Вифлеємі нині новина) • Oh, the Sea Played on Sunday Morning (Ой грало море в неділю рано) • There Stood a Pine (Стояла сосна) • High in the Blue Sky (Там високо в синім небі) • Good Evening, Master of the House (Добрий вечір тобі, пане господарю) • And many others Production team: Bohdan Rewkewycz (staging and direction), Oksana Radkewycz (set design), Bohdana Bonczuk (music direction), Denys Hryhoruk (choreography), Switłana Korenkowa (lighting design), Iryna Artymjak (project manager, acting artistic director).
