Stand-up Kraków | Rafał Rutkowski in "Time Machine"

Rafał Rutkowski performs at Nowohuckie Centrum Kultury with his program "Time Machine". It's his fourth solo show in which he travels through time and in his own style juxtaposes the present with the past. Among the questions he poses in the program: • was it ever better, or are we living in the best of times right now, • is artificial intelligence humanity's hope or the beginning of its end, • how much has technology changed us, • are we smarter than our ancestors, or is human stupidity doing better and better. Rutkowski also returns to his childhood in communist Poland and reminds audiences of the absurdities of that era: the Fiat 126p phenomenon, queues for mustard, meat ration coupons, and parties during martial law. He talks about his first trip "to the West" and long-distance flirting with his Swedish wife. He also reveals how he impressed his girlfriend with aerobatic stunts and how he used contraception in Belarus. Practical information: the show is intended for audiences aged 16 and up. Mobile phones should be turned off or silenced. Audio and video recording is prohibited, and flash photography is not allowed. The organizer may remove people disrupting the performance without refunding their ticket. The performance may be recorded, and ticket purchase constitutes consent to sharing your image.
