The action of "Sense and Sensibility" takes place in Georgian-era England. The story follows the fate of a wealthy Mr. Dashwood, who dies and leaves his second wife and three daughters in a difficult financial situation.
The women move to a modest rural estate. Two older sisters compete there for the attentions of various suitors and seek true love.
