About this event
The concert "A na razie fruwają motyle" is dedicated to literary songs from Magda Umer's repertoire. Artists from Tarnów's Najmniejsza Scena Świata will perform at this event taking place on November 5, 2026 at 6:00 PM at Nowohuski Centrum Kultury in Kraków. Organizers promise songs that continue to speak about the world and times we live in.
Selected pieces form a complete story about hope, fragility, happiness, and feelings that help us survive even in the saddest moments. The program features well-known and lesser-known songs, arranged for one male voice, piano, double bass, vibraphone, and percussion instruments. Poems by songwriters who wrote for Magda Umer will also be heard: Agnieszka Osiecka, Jeremi Przybora, Magda Czapińska, Wojciech Młynarski, and Jonasz Kofta, along with music by composers of this genre. You will hear, among others:
"Jeszcze w zielone gramy"
"Tylko miłość"
"Koncert jesienny na dwa świerszcze"
"Walc noce i dnie"
"Już czas na sen"
Magda Umer (born October 9, 1949, died December 12, 2025) was a singer and one of the most important Polish performers of literary song and sung poetry. She also worked as a screenwriter, director, journalist, and actress (she played Rachel in Stanisław Wyspiański's "Wesele" directed by Adam Hanuszkiewicz). She received the title Master of Polish Speech. As a vocalist, she debuted in the 1960s in Warsaw student cabarets. She remained permanently associated with songs that won her first competition awards: "Jeśli myślisz, że ja cię nie kocham" (music by Wojciech Knittel, lyrics by Andrzej Woyciechowski) earned her recognition at the Winter Song Exchange, and "Koncert jesienny na dwa świerszcze i wiatr w kominie" (music by Krzysztof Knittel, lyrics by Wojciech Niżyński) won awards at the FAMA festival and the Polish Song Festival in Opole. She sang intimately, also whispering and meloreciting, caring about the meaning of every word.
