Between Classics and Improvisation

The concert "Between Classics and Improvisation" is an intriguing musical mix where well-known jazz standards meet works inspired by the classics of the genre and original compositions by band members. The program will also feature Polish songs from the interwar period, introducing a nostalgic, elegant atmosphere of that era. The whole concert is performed in smooth jazz style, with emphasis on carefully selected melodies, unconventional harmony and precisely crafted sound. Among the composers whose works will appear in the concert are, among others, Antônio Carlos Jobim, John Coltrane, Henryk Wars and Stanisław Ferszko. The EKLIPTYKA 2.0 ensemble will perform on stage, known in Piwnica primarily for its flagship program consisting of a survey of Polish songs, from the interwar period to contemporary times. The latest version of the program is titled "What a Nation, What People!"
