"Lord Of The Dance" is a dance spectacle that combines Irish dance, mythological narrative, and modern show production. As part of the 30th Anniversary Tour, the spectacular will be presented at TAURON Arena Kraków. Created by Michael Flatley, the performance tells a story of light and darkness, the battle between good and evil, courage, strength, and passion through dance, rhythm, and music.
Flatley left Riverdance in 1995 because he wanted to create his own, more personal project. He drew inspiration from Irish legends and myths, his native country's traditions, and its music and rhythm. He presented "Lord Of The Dance" in 1996. The spectacle was met with standing ovations in Europe and the USA, sold millions of albums, and a year later Flatley was present at the Academy Awards ceremony. Already a year after its premiere, the production performed on stages around the world. According to organizers, it has been watched by over 50 million viewers on all continents.
The production has extensive technical infrastructure:
- scenography and equipment travel on six trucks,
- setup takes almost 10 hours,
- the spectacle comprises technical elements, lighting, projections, and costumes,
- nearly 200 dancers have appeared in the show's history.
Michael Flatley has been three-time Guinness World Record holder as the world's fastest stepper. The spectacle is addressed to both lovers of Irish dance and those experiencing this style for the first time.
