A comedy by Peter Quilter directed by Olaf Lubaszenko, presented by Capitol Theatre in Kraków on November 27, 2026 at 6:00 PM at Nowohuckie Centrum Kultury. The action takes place during a hot weekend in the countryside, in an old, slightly overgrown house with a wild garden full of apple trees and a swimming pool that has seen better days. Adult children return to their family home.
The characters include:
• Harry - the father who "talks" to Marilyn Monroe every day,
• Scott - the son, described as an eternally clumsy child,
• Amy - a daughter with a sharper temperament than the best blender,
• Max - a guy who philosophizes about life but fears spiders more than his own thoughts.
The production features family banter, quarrels over canned carrots, and the question of why it's sometimes better not to look under the kitchen sink. When Marilyn enters the scene, it's unclear whether she's an icon, a ghost, or a fantasy, and reality blends with imagination. The comedy also asks whether it's possible to reconcile with the past without losing touch with reality, whether imagination is an escape or a salvation, and whether everyone sees the same thing.
