"Phantom Pains" is a monodrama by Dominika Feiglewicz-Penarska based on the true story of Magdalena Sipowicz. Magdalena survived a railway disaster near Szczekociny in 2012 as a passenger. As a result of this tragic accident, she suffered severe injuries and her right leg was amputated.
The text was written by Paweł Feiglewicz-Penarski based on hours-long conversations with Magdalena. It tells the story of invisible pain, of a body that remembers, of a soul that travels, and of understanding and finding oneself. Magdalena is a sign language interpreter, crisis consultant and motivator. On stage, her personal story becomes the voice of a woman who has endured much and decided to speak about what is usually left unsaid. It is a story about living with searing, crushing, and burning pain.
