A Swashbuckling Comedy of Errors About Love, Ambitions and... Very Family Interests

The play "Business Affairs" in the original, by John Chapman and Jeremy Lloyd, tells a story about love, ambitions, and family interests. It asks who really rules the household and who runs the company, and whether business can be separated from family life. It also questions whether men earn money only so their wives can live like "queens of life". The cast is listed below. Two friends and business partners plan to sell their transport company to Germans. The transaction is supposed to secure an early retirement and life in two luxury Spanish villas, and the deposit has already been paid. The only question is whether their wives share this enthusiasm. The negotiations were supposed to go smoothly, but the contractors expect a meeting in a hotel accompanied by two "ladies of the evening". Unexpectedly, the partners' wives arrive at the hotel room. A series of mix-ups and misunderstandings forces the spouses to play flirtatious and confident "girls of easy virtue". They become completely different women, which inflames their husbands and turns the situation upside down. The question remains whether they can save both the business and the marriages from this chaos.
