Atom String Quartet | IUBILAEI CANTUS 2026

As part of the XXXII Sądecki Music Festival IUBILAEI CANTUS, we invite you to a concert by Atom String Quartet. The event will take place on Tuesday, November 10 at 6:00 PM in the Lucjana Lipińskiego Hall at Małopolskie Centrum Kultury SOKÓŁ. In their latest program, Atom String Quartet takes listeners on a journey to a unique era of Polish music from the 1970s and 80s (with a brief excursion into the 1990s). This was a time when jazz met funk, the sound of new, often electric instruments, and the distinctive atmosphere of a country behind the Iron Curtain. The ensemble draws on works not only by such icons as Zbigniew Seifert, Krzesimir Dębski, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Michał Urbaniak, Władysław Sendecki, Andrzej Zaucha, and Novi Singers, but also compositions from the repertoires of Perfectu and Kombi. Although not all of these works fit the literal definition of funk, they share a common pulse, energy, groove, and characteristic sound of those years. It is a world full of vibrant, organic expression, which Atom String Quartet transforms into a unique language of the contemporary string quartet.
