A landslide pond on the slopes of Lubogoszcz, 575 m above sea level, below a former YMCA base.
Żabie Oko is a small pond on the south-western slopes of Lubogoszcz in the Island Beskids, on the territory of the village of Kasinka Mała. It lies at an altitude of 575 m in the forest.
The pond is of landslide origin: it formed when a large part of the slope slid down. Locals called the place Zapadlisko or Stawisko, and the present name was given to it later by tourists. In the Island Beskids landslides still occur today.
In 1924 the small lake was spotted from an aeroplane by members of the YMCA, who were looking for a site for a youth camp. They liked the place and built a base by the pond, today the Lubogoszcz Training and Recreation Base. A concrete pool was later built at the pond.
A trail leads to the pond from Kasinka Mała towards Lubogoszcz, up to the junction with the red trail. The walk takes about 35 minutes.
