A wooden observation tower from 2018 on Golgota hill, with a view of Tarnów and the Dunajec valley.
The observation tower in Dąbrówka Szczepanowska stands on a hill called Golgota, at 395 m above sea level, in Tarnów County. It was built in 2018 and serves as a viewpoint over the area around Tarnów.
The tower is wooden and about 16 metres high. It has five levels, each with viewing terraces. The ground floor is equipped with benches and a ramp, which allows wheelchair users to reach the terrace as well. The tower is lit by solar energy, and a camera with an online view is mounted on its roof.
The views run mainly north and north-east: towards Tarnów, Wojnicz and the Dunajec valley. In good visibility you can see the hills of the Island Beskids and, in the distance, the Tatras. In the evening the illuminated city can be seen from the tower. In 2019 the site received an award in the “Tourist Treasures of Lesser Poland” competition in the category of unusual tourist attraction.
The war cemetery no. 193 in Dąbrówka Szczepanowska is about 0.6 km from here. On an outing you can combine the tower with a visit to Trzewlin Castle, less than 3 km away.
