A wooden observation tower on the summit of Gorc with a roofed, sheltered terrace, completed in 2015.
The observation tower on Gorc stands on the summit of Gorc (1228 m above sea level) in the Gorce Mountains, in the municipality of Ochotnica Dolna. It was completed in 2015 as part of the programme “Enclave of Active Leisure in the Heart of Gorce”, which includes cycling, walking and skiing trails.
The tower has a wooden structure on a concrete foundation. The stairs and the viewing terrace are fully enclosed, so the climb is not a problem even for people who are afraid of heights. The terrace holds about 30 people.
The wooden screen of the terrace has descriptions of the panoramas on its inner walls, and long slits allow children to look out as well. The terrace is roofed, so it gives shelter in bad weather. Web cameras are mounted on the roof, through which the panorama can be viewed remotely.
Ochotnica Dolna municipality has built three more towers, including the tower on Magurki. We describe the summit itself on the page for Gorc.
