An earth infantry redoubt from 1887-1888 in the Kraków Fortress, covering Fort 51 Rajsko from the south.
Infantry redoubt IS-VII-4 is an earth defensive work of the former Kraków Fortress in Swoszowice, on the south side of Kuryłowicza Street, south of Fort 51 Rajsko. It was built in 1887-1888 and rebuilt in 1914.
The redoubt has a semi-oval outline surrounded by a dry moat and a classic cross-section. Together with redoubt IS-VII-3 it covered Fort 51 Rajsko from the south, along with battery FB 51a on the neighbouring ridge, pushed slightly forward of the fort.
According to Wikipedia, the structure has survived to this day. Only the gorge section was damaged, when the road was widened. The neighbouring battery FB 51a, whose ramparts were formerly fairly well preserved, was levelled.
