A historic synagogue from 1904-1905 with a Neoclassical façade, today in non-religious use.
The synagogue in Brzesko stands on Puszkina Street and is entered in the heritage register under number A-152/M of 2008. It was built in 1904-1905 on the site of an older prayer house that burnt down in a fire in the town.
It is a plastered brick building on a rectangular plan, in an eclectic style with a Neoclassical façade. The nine-bay façade is divided into three parts: a central one with a two-storey projecting bay, topped with a gable with spires, and single-storey wings. It is decorated with pilasters and rustication in the plaster, and above the entrance there is a pediment with floral garlands. The interior has been rebuilt.
During the war the Germans devastated the synagogue. In 1947 the town bought it from the Jewish community and set up a library in it, moved after two years to the neighbouring building of the kahal and the mikveh. Until 1975 it was used by an invalids' cooperative. After several renovations, the last at the beginning of the 21st century, in 2007 it housed service premises and a pizzeria.
Not far away lies the Old Jewish Cemetery, and right next to it the Regional Museum in Brzesko.
