A synagogue from 1910 in the courtyard of a tenement house at Brzozowa 6 in Kazimierz, today a drama school.
The Deiches Synagogue stands in Kazimierz in Kraków, in the courtyard of a tenement house at Brzozowa 6. It is not an active synagogue: today it houses a drama school.
The prayer house was built in 1910 on the initiative of the Salomon Deiches foundation, to a design by the Jewish architect Henryk Lamensdorf. Next to the prayer hall was a room of a Talmudic school. During the Second World War the Germans devastated the building. After the war it was given over to offices.
It is a two-storey building with a terrace on the upper floor. On the gable wall a decoration in the shape of the tablets of the Decalogue has survived. The interiors are not open as a place to visit, and the building now serves as a school.
Closest are the Old Synagogue, part of the museum, and the Church of Saints Peter and Paul.
