An open-air museum of the folk architecture of the Pogórze foothills with 15 original buildings moved from around Gorlice, a branch of the museum in Gorlice.
The Prof. Roman Reinfuss Open-Air Museum of the Pogórze Village in Szymbark is a museum of folk architecture of the Gorlice region. Since 2010 it has been a branch of the Karwacjan and Gładysz Manor Houses Museum in Gorlice. It was opened to visitors on 19 September 1987.
On about two hectares stand 15 original buildings moved from nearby villages. They are cottages, farm buildings and village workshops, including a granary from Rożnowice, a smithy from Turza, a barn from Zagórze and a wooden manor house from Gorlice. Most of the buildings date from the 19th century, and their interiors are furnished with equipment from the late 19th century and the interwar period.
According to its description, the open-air museum offers demonstrations of traditional crafts such as blacksmithing, weaving and pottery. You can learn about the dates of the demonstrations and guided tours from the museum.
