The PTTK mountain hut on Stare Wierchy stands in a forest clearing in the western Gorce, at an altitude of 968 m above sea level. It is named after Czesław Trybowski. According to the hut's website it has 28 beds and home cooking, and from the clearing there is a panorama of the Tatra Mountains (Tatras).
From the hut you can see the Tatras, the Spiš Magura, several peaks of the Gorce and Babia Góra. Spruce forests grow around it, and in summer the clearings bear bilberries. The nearest higher goals are Turbacz and the whole of Gorce National Park, and closer by stands the PTTK mountain hut on Maciejowa.
The hut's website lists hiking, horse riding and cycling on the surrounding trails. In winter a ski lift operates by the hut, and there are cross-country skiing routes around. Nearby it is permitted to pitch a tent and light a campfire.
