The medieval market square of Skawina with a town hall and townhouses, without a roadway since the 2012 renovation.
The market square in Skawina is a square in the town centre that came into being soon after Skawina was chartered in 1364. The buildings around it are medieval townhouses and the town hall.
In 1683 King John III Sobieski reviewed a parade of hussars on this square. The streets leading from the square are Pokoju, Słowackiego, Konopnickiej, Żwirki i Wigury, Sikorskiego and Batorego.
Until 2012 a roadway with parking spaces ran across the square, linking Batorego and Słowackiego streets. With the renovation of the square's surface the roadway was removed. By the square is the Regional Museum in Skawina, and a few kilometres further lies the Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec.
