The ruins of the Szembek Palace in Poręba Żegoty, burnt down in 1945, with free entry to the grounds.
Only ruins remain of the Szembek Palace in Poręba Żegoty. They stand by road no. 780 from Kraków to Oświęcim, not far from Tenczyn Castle.
The palace was built on the site of a wooden manor house from the 17th century. The first owners were the Koryciński family, later the Schwarzenberg-Czerny and Szembek families. The palace was burnt down in 1945. A recent attempt to rebuild the buildings was unsuccessful.
In the village, on the right-hand side of the main road, stands a long grey building with buttresses. In front of it a narrow asphalt road turns uphill, leading right up to the ruins, and a sign points to the palace. Entry to the area of the ruins is free, and there are free parking places beside it.
