A strict floristic reserve of 1.38 ha on the edge of Wolski Forest, protecting rock grasslands.
The Skałki Przegorzalskie reserve is a small, strict floristic reserve in Kraków, on the edge of Wolski Forest on the Przegorzały side. It covers 1.38 ha and was established in 1959.
The reserve protects rare rock and xerothermic grasslands and warmth-loving thickets on a distinct ridge with rock outcrops. There is also a mixed forest dominated by a warmth-loving form of sub-continental oak-hornbeam forest. Protected plants mentioned include Dorycnium herbaceum, Daphne mezereum, Primula elatior and Epipactis helleborine. The area belongs to the Jagiellonian University and lies within the Bielany-Tyniec Landscape Park.
Just above the reserve stands a large Second World War structure known as the Belweder, and the Rotunda villa, the work of Adolf Szyszko-Bohusz. From here it is not far to Przegorzały Castle. A few kilometres further on, the forest leads to Kraków Zoo.
