A brick town hall of the former town of Podgórze from a rebuilding of 1891-1892, today the seat of an office and the district council.
The New Town Hall of the former town of Podgórze stands at Rynek Podgórski 1, on the corner of Limanowskiego Street. Podgórze was an independent town before it was incorporated into Kraków, and this building was its last town hall.
The function of town hall had earlier been served by the manor house Pod Białym Orłem. The new town hall was built in 1838-1844, after the market square was regulated. Its present appearance is the result of a rebuilding of 1891-1892: the city architect Józef Kryłowski changed the façade and added a second floor with a representative council chamber. The building is of brick and is entered in the heritage register.
Many elements of the original furnishings have survived inside, including the chamber of the Podgórze Town Council. On the façade is a plaque dedicated to 45 legionnaires from Podgórze who fell in the First World War, and at the top the coat of arms of Podgórze. A few hundred metres away stands Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory.
