The Martyrdom Monument in Krzesławice commemorates Poles shot here by the Germans in November 1943.
The Monument to the Executed, also known as the Martyrdom Monument, stands in Krzesławice, in the northern part of Kraków, at ul. Wańkowicza. It commemorates Poles shot at this place by the Germans in November 1943.
Wikipedia describes two events from November 1943. The first took place on 10 November: German railway guards travelling on the Kocmyrzów - Kraków line fired from the carriages and fatally wounded one of the local residents. During the second event, on 13 November 1943, SS men brought ten adults by lorry and shot them at this place.
A plaque with an inscription has been placed on the monument. The site lies in District XVII Wzgórza Krzesławickie, near Nowa Huta. At Krzesławice Fort stands a separate monument dedicated to those murdered in Krzesławice in 1939-1941.
