A monument to the Hungarian prime minister by Stefan Dousa, unveiled in 2021 by the Voivodeship Public Library.
The Pál Teleki Monument stands in Kraków at Rajska 1, behind the building of the Voivodeship Public Library. It is the work of the sculptor Stefan Dousa. The monument was put in place in November 2020 and formally unveiled on 14 August 2021, on the 80th anniversary of the death of the man it commemorates.
Teleki was twice prime minister of Hungary, in 1920-1921 and 1939-1941, and held the title of count. He was regarded as a great friend of Poland. In 1935 he visited Kraków with a delegation of Hungarian scouts and, according to the Wikipedia entry, brought a wheelbarrow of earth for the Piłsudski Mound, then being heaped up.
The sculpture shows Teleki in a braided dolman, a Hungarian national dress. At the unveiling there was also a discussion among scholars on Polish-Hungarian relations in the 20th century. Nearby are the Bagatela Theatre and Planty Park.
