A monument from 1992 on the Przy Arce estate in Nowa Huta, on the spot where Bogdan Włosik was killed in 1982.
The monument to Bogdan Włosik and other victims of martial law stands in Nowa Huta, in the Bieńczyce district, on the Przy Arce estate, in front of block no. 11. It was put up on the small square where Bogdan Włosik was killed.
After 1981, on the thirteenth day of every month, Masses for the homeland were celebrated in the nearby Ark of the Lord church, followed by Solidarity demonstrations. Clashes then took place between residents of Nowa Huta and ZOMO riot police units. During one of them, on 13 October 1982, Bogdan Włosik was shot by an officer of the Security Service (SB) and died. The square in front of the Ark of the Lord now bears his name.
The monument was designed by Helena Łyżwa and unveiled in 1992, on the tenth anniversary of the events. It consists of two blocks of granite, and the space between them has the shape of a cross. An inscription is placed at the foot of the cross.
