Over 6 ha of spa park in Ciężkowice with Kneipp hydrotherapy, a graduation tower and gardens.
The Spa Park in Ciężkowice was created near the Skamieniałe Miasto nature reserve and opened on 25 June 2021. It is named after Mayor Zbigniew Jurkiewicz, the initiator of the project, and covers over 6 hectares.
The park includes hydrotherapy facilities, an alpine garden, an arboretum, paddling pools with mineral baths, a heath garden, an outdoor gym, a playground, water gardens, a brine graduation tower and a sensory garden. It is part of a larger project that also includes the Lesser Poland Centre of Ecological Education and a treetop walkway.
The central part of the park is based on the hydrotherapy method of Father Sebastian Kneipp, which uses cold water. Only specialist hydrotherapy treatments are paid for, while entry to the grounds and use of the outdoor facilities is free.
It is about a 5-minute walk from here to the Skamieniałe Miasto nature reserve and the rock with a cross. Close by are also the Ciężkowice Waterfall and, in the town centre, the Natural History Museum. Families with children can add the nearby Dudek rope park to the route.
