A Kraków park from the years after the Second World War, with a bronze monument to its patron unveiled in 2010.
St Vincent de Paul Park lies in Krowodrza, between the streets Bydgoska, Skarbińskiego, Lea and Misjonarska and Aleja Kijowska.
It was laid out after the Second World War on the site of former missionary and parish gardens, next to the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes. It originally bore the name of Adam Polewka, a journalist and member of the Constituent Sejm. His monument was removed after 1989, and in 1991 the park received its present patron by a resolution of the City Council.
In 2008 a tender for the development of the area was decided and the park was renovated. In April 2010 a monument to Vincent de Paul, the French priest who founded the Sisters of Charity and the Lazarists, was unveiled and blessed. The bronze sculpture shows the saint blessing a small boy and stands on a brick plinth; its author is Karol Badyna.
For a longer walk it is better to choose the larger Henryk Jordan Park, about a kilometre away.
