A small pocket park in Krowodrza with a literary theme, an open-air bookcase and a play area.
The Pocket Park Literary Garden is a small square in Kraków's Krowodrza district, on Kronikarza Galla Street. It is managed by the Municipal Green Spaces Authority in Kraków, and according to its website the park was created in 2019.
The garden is based on a line from a poem by Wisława Szymborska about reading books as the finest game humankind has devised. The city announcements write about this. There are picnic tables with engraved letters, and educational paths about plants in literature run among the greenery.
According to the authority, there are benches and swing benches, an outdoor bookcase for anyone who wishes, a children's playground, one picnic table and exercise equipment at the end of the garden. A winding path connects the individual zones. The city announcements list the plantings: hydrangeas, tulips, irises and currants, and among the trees beeches, birches and yews.
A larger green area nearby is the Henryk Jordan Park, and for a cultural outing you can go to the Bagatela Theatre.
