A city park in Nowa Huta of 3.34 ha, entered in the heritage register, with a pergola, a tree house and a playground.
Stefan Żeromski Park is a small city park of 3.34 ha on the Na Skarpie estate in Nowa Huta. It lies between ulica Sieroszewskiego, the Stefan Żeromski Specialist Hospital and the Nowa Huta Meadows, and has, among other things, a wooden pergola, a tree house and a playground.
Before the war this was the fields of the village of Mogiła. In 1940-1943 a forced labour camp for Jewish women producing aircraft parts operated here, along with a camp for Soviet prisoners of war working at the airfield in Czyżyny. From 1976 the area of the former building depots was developed into a park by the hospital. The park is entered in the heritage register under number A-1132 of 2004.
After the renovation of 2018 the park has a wooden pergola and a tree house with a view of the Nowa Huta Meadows. The playground has a rope “spider web”, wicker nests and a seat in the shape of a grass snake. Along the asphalt paths grow trees, shrubs, roses and perennials, planted in 2001 and 2018.
