Wodzicki Palace in Kościelniki is a historic residence from the early 18th century, standing in the former village of Kościelniki, now within the limits of Kraków. It is entered in the heritage register and can be viewed mainly from the outside.

Who built and rebuilt it

The Baroque palace was commissioned in 1708 by Stefan Morstin and designed by Józef Piola. At the end of the 18th century Eliasz Wodzicki gave it Neoclassical forms. The Wodzickis owned the estate from 1773 to 1945.

What the building looks like

It is a two-storey palace on an H plan under a hipped roof. The façade is distinguished by a portico with four Ionic columns and a triangular pediment bearing the coats of arms of the Wodzicki family and related families.

Condition and accessibility today

After 1945 the building fell into disrepair, and the western outbuilding is in ruins. According to the Wikipedia entry, the palace was sold to a private person in April 2020. The interiors are not known to be open to visitors, so treat it as a building to be viewed from the street.
