A neo-Renaissance house of Tadeusz Stryjeński from 1882-1883, with stained glass by Wyspiański and a relief of Stańczyk.
Tadeusz Stryjeński's Palace, also known as the Villa Pod Stańczykiem, stands at Stefana Batorego 12 in Kraków's Piasek district. It is a neo-Renaissance house with neo-Baroque features, which the architect designed for himself and built in 1882-1883.
Stryjeński was both the author and the builder of his own residence, and finishing work continued until 1892. On the left wing there is a relief of Stańczyk from 1886, and in the garden stands a studio pavilion designed by Jan Bukowski. The interiors are decorated with stained glass by Stanisław Wyspiański.
Wikipedia states that the building is occupied by the Jagiellonian University. It has been a monument on the register since 1968. It is a university building, so the interiors are usually closed to visitors, while the façade and the relief can be viewed from the street. Nearby lies Planty Park.
