A Neo-Renaissance city palace in Stradom from 1874-1875, today with offices and a hotel, entered in the heritage register.
Puget Palace stands in Stradom, at ulica Starowiślna 13-15, in the Old Town district. It was built in 1874-1875 for Baron Konstanty de Puget and is entered in the heritage register.
The design was made by Józef Kwiatkowski, and the building refers to French Renaissance. According to Wikipedia it is the only fully realised city palace in Kraków. The main building is set back from the street and preceded by a courtyard, two outbuildings stand at the sides, and at the back of the plot there is a garden. According to the heritage register the façades are of brick.
From 1892 the palace belonged to the Stablewski family. In the 20th century it housed in turn a gendarmerie detachment, the mounted police and the Kraków county office, the municipal court, and after 1945 a court and the prosecutor's office. In 1978 a fire destroyed the staircase. After 1991 a general renovation was carried out and the original layout of the interiors was preserved: the corridor on the axis, the staircase and the reception rooms in the central part.
According to Wikipedia the palace serves as an office centre, and a hotel is also part of the complex. It is not a museum, and the sources do not mention visiting the interiors, so it can be viewed mainly from the street and from the courtyard, if that is accessible.
