A Classicist palace from 1829 or 1831 in Nowa Huta, today a therapy centre.
The Kirchmayer Palace stands in Pleszów, in Kraków's Nowa Huta, on Suchy Jar street. It is a Classicist brick building from the first half of the 19th century, entered in the heritage register. Today it houses a therapy centre, so it is a building to be viewed from the outside, not a museum.
According to the Wikipedia entry, it was built by Wincenty Kirchmayer in 1829 or 1831 on the site of the demolished Czartoryski manor house. Around 1905 the building was remodelled on the initiative of Count Czapski, who added a tower with family coats of arms. Before the Second World War an orphanage and a children's hospital operated here.
The palace has a terraced park with ponds. Since 1992 it has housed the MONAR rehabilitation and readaptation centre, so the interiors are not open to visitors. Wanda Mound lies nearby, less than three kilometres away.
