A parish museum of the Canons Regular of the Holy Sepulchre in Chełm, a branch of the Diocesan Museum in Tarnów, opened in 1999.
The Parish Museum of the Guardians of the Holy Sepulchre in Chełm presents memorabilia connected with the Canons Regular of the Holy Sepulchre, who settled on Chełm hill. It is housed in two rooms of the parish building and in an 18th-century bell tower, on the grounds of the Church of the Nativity of St John the Baptist, and is a branch of the Diocesan Museum in Tarnów.
It was opened in 1999, on an anniversary of the canons regular's activity in Chełm. It was founded by the parish priest, who had found historic liturgical objects in the sacristy.
The collections include 17th-century wooden choir stalls, an oak sculpture of St John of Nepomuk from 1751, liturgical vessels, 18th-century chasubles and parish chronicles going back to the 15th century. A separate section is devoted to John Paul II. Nearby lies the Chełm hillfort.
