A museum and archive of Bl. Maria Angela Truszkowska in a 14th-century townhouse on ul. Mikołajska.
The Museum and Archive of Maria Angela Truszkowska is housed in a townhouse at ul. Mikołajska 18, about 200 metres from St Mary's Basilica. It is devoted to the founder of the Congregation of the Sisters of St Felix of Cantalice (the Felician Sisters).
The townhouse dates from the 14th century and for over 500 years was home to Kraków burghers. In 1860 Pelagia Russanowska gave it to the Felician Sisters for use as an institution for poor children. The museum opened on 11 October 1999, on the hundredth anniversary of the death of Bl. Maria Angela.
Visitors will see a family room, the room in which Maria Angela lived in 1866-1870, with her oldest portrait from 1924, a room on the history and spirituality of the Congregation and a room of liturgical keepsakes with chasubles embroidered by the foundress. The building also houses an archive of manuscripts and documents and a library of books published up to 1900.
