About Brother Albert Museum in Kraków

A small memorial room of St Brother Albert in the General House of the Albertine Brothers in Kraków, in a former municipal shelter.

The Brother Albert Museum is a small institution arranged as a memorial room of Adam Chmielowski, the founder of the Albertine Brothers. It has operated since 1963 at ul. Krakowska 43.

The building

The house in which the museum is located was formerly a municipal warming house for the poor and homeless, then a shelter of the Albertine Brothers. Today it is the General House of the Order, the seat of the authorities of the Congregation of the Albertine Brothers, that is, the Brothers Serving the Poor. The congregation was founded in Kraków in 1888 by St Brother Albert.

Practical information

  • Address: ul. Krakowska 43, Kraków, Stare Miasto district.
  • The congregation's website does not give hours or rules for visiting the memorial room, so you need to ask at the religious house before a visit.
  • About 600 m further on stands the Old Synagogue in Kraków.
