Krupówka (Policy Range)

Skawica, Juszczyn
About Krupówka (Policy Range)

A summit of 1,045 m on the main ridge of the Policy Range, between Urwanica and Soska, wooded, formerly with mountain meadows.

Krupówka (1,045 m above sea level) is an unremarkable summit on the main ridge of the Policy Range. The range is counted as part of the Żywiec Beskids, and in the regionalisation of 2018 as part of the Żywiec-Orava Beskids.

Location

The summit lies between Urwanica (1,117 m) and Soska (1,063 m). Across Krupówka runs the boundary between Skawica on the northern side and Sidzina on the southern, both villages in Sucha County. On the southern side, about 3 km from the summit, stands the PTTK mountain hut on Hala Krupowa.

What it looks like

The top is covered with forest. The upper parts of the slopes were formerly largely treeless and occupied by pastoral mountain meadows. Long disused, they are gradually being overgrown by forest. Not far away stretches the Na Policy Nature Reserve.

Practical information

  • There is no tourist infrastructure described in the sources, so plan your approach using a current map of the trails of the Policy Range.
  • Check the colour of the trail and the walking time before setting out.
