A modernist church in Grabówka, a shrine of Our Lady of Fátima, with sculptures and stained glass from the second half of the 20th century.
The Church of St Joseph and Our Lady of Fátima stands on the Grabówka estate in Tarnów and is a Marian shrine. The church was built in 1957-1960 to a design by a team of architects: Jerzy Kozłowski, Krystian Seibert and Zbigniew Wolak.
The masonry three-nave body, 45 metres long and 22 wide, was built of brick with limestone and reinforced concrete. The tower in the corner of the façade is 45 metres high and has a steel spire. On the wall of the apse hangs a sculpture of the Crucified Christ by Jerzy and Maria Bereś, and above the west entrance a Pietà by Helena and Roman Husarski. The stained glass from 1972 by Tadeusz Wojciechowski shows the opening of the Second Vatican Council.
The figure of Our Lady of Fátima was brought here in 1952, and the shrine was established on 13 May 2003. Today Fátima days are observed on the 13th of the month from May to October. Not far away stands St Joseph's Church in Tarnów.
