About Church of St Vincent de Paul in Żelazówka

Parish church from 1980-1984 in Żelazówka in Dąbrowa County, with chancel polychromes from 1995.

The Church of St Vincent de Paul in Żelazówka is a Roman Catholic parish church in Dąbrowa County, in the Tarnów diocese. It is a church from the 1980s, designed by the engineer Roman Łomnicki.

Construction and consecration

The church was built in 1980-1984. The foundation stone was blessed on 24 October 1981, and the lower church was consecrated on the same day. The upper church was consecrated on 29 September 1984. The arrangement with a lower and an upper church therefore made it possible to use the building before the whole was completed.

Interior

The chancel was decorated in 1995 with works by the Tarnów painter Marek Niedojadło. On the wall is a fresco depicting the Last Supper, with a crucifixion scene above it. It is complemented by four paintings on canvas: Our Lady of Odporyszów, St Vincent de Paul, St John the Baptist and a painting of the Merciful Jesus.

Nearby

It is about four and a half kilometres from here to Dąbrowa Tarnowska. There it is worth looking in at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Scapular, and in Odporyszów at the Jan Wnęk Museum.

Practical information
