About Church of St Stanislaus Kostka in Tarnów

A Neo-Romanesque parish church from 1908-1910 in the Zbylitowska Góra estate in Tarnów.

The Church of St Stanislaus Kostka is a parish church in the Zbylitowska Góra estate in Tarnów, on Pszenna Street. It belongs to the Tarnów West deanery of the Tarnów diocese.

The building

The church was built in 1908-1910 of brick, in the Neo-Romanesque style, to a design by Janusz Rypuszyński. It has one tower, three naves and three altars. The patron's liturgical memorial falls on 13 November, and the parish bears the same dedication as the church.

Place in the city

It is a district church, a few kilometres from Tarnów's Old Town, where the cathedral basilica stands. A visit can therefore be combined with other places in western Tarnów.

Practical information

  • Address: ul. Pszenna, Tarnów (Zbylitowska Góra).
  • The interior is accessible during services; check Mass times with the parish.
  • Check the route from the centre of Tarnów and the city transport timetable before you set out, because the church lies outside the strict city centre.
  • The sources give no information on the furnishings or on visiting outside the liturgy.
