A 16th-century parish church in Trzciana, burned in 1652 and 1656, with a Neo-Gothic nave and towers from 1995-2000.
The Church of St Margaret in Trzciana, in Bochnia County, is a parish church of the Lipnica Murowana deanery in the Diocese of Tarnów. The oldest part dates from the 16th century, but the building was extended as late as 2000.
The brick church from the 16th century was burned by the Cossacks in 1652 and by the Swedes in 1656. In 1905-1907 a south nave was added to a design by Jan Sas-Zubrzycki. The extension of 1953-1956, to a design by Stefan Świszczowski, covered the western part, and further work was halted by the authorities. The church acquired its present form in 1995-2000, when Julian Klimek designed two massive towers on the west side.
The historic parts are the eastern part of the main nave, the chancel and the Neo-Gothic south nave. In the sacristy a Renaissance portal from the 16th century has survived, with old iron-bound doors. The main nave and the chancel have mirror vaults (flat ceilings with a moulded frame), and the side aisle and the chapel have cross vaults.
