The new church of the parish of St Andrew the Apostle in Słopnice, blessed in 2013 and consecrated in 2024.
The Church of St John Paul II in Słopnice is the new church of the parish of St Andrew the Apostle. It was built in 2013 to replace the former historic parish church, which stands nearby.
Plans for construction appeared as early as the 1970s, but priority was given to a chapel on the Podmogielica estate. The design was prepared by Sebastian Pitoń. The blessing on 16 November 2013 was performed by Bishop Andrzej Jeż. The consecration was to take place in 2020, but the pandemic postponed it, so it took place on 6 July 2024.
Right next to it stands the former church, that is St Andrew the Apostle's Church in Słopnice, and above the village rises Mogielica.
