A brick parish church in Męcina, consecrated in 2006, with an altar made from a raw block of stone.
The new church in Męcina is the church of the parish of St Anthony the Abbot. It was built in place of the old church, too small for the growing community, and construction lasted more than twenty years.
The foundation stone was blessed in June 1983 by John Paul II. Work began in 1984, and the finished church was consecrated in 2006 by Bishop Wiktor Skworc.
The church is built of brick and has a single nave. The altar was made from a raw block of stone, and the decoration was designed by the artist Andrzej Pasonia of Stary Sącz. The whole has a closed layout, focused on the Paschal mystery.
From Męcina it is close to neighbouring churches, for example the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Kanina. A few kilometres further on lies the village of Jaworz.
