A Neo-Gothic church of 1924-1928 in Kamień, with a historic presbytery, a granary with a Regional Room and a wooden well next to it.
The Church of the Protection of the Mother of God in Kamień is a brick church in Czernichów municipality, in Kraków County. It stands in Kamień next to a complex of former presbytery buildings and is entered in the register of immovable heritage monuments of Lesser Poland Voivodeship.
The building is Neo-Gothic and was built in 1924-1928, on the site of an 18th-century chapel. A modified design by Zdzisław Mączeński was used in its construction.
Next to the church stands a brick presbytery of 1910-1920, surrounded by lime trees several hundred years old. The ruins of 18th-century farm buildings, a brick granary (lamus) of the 17th century and a wooden well of the 18th century have also survived. The granary houses the Regional Room in Kamień, run by the Society of Friends of Kamień, so a visit to the church is easy to combine with viewing the regional collections.
Two kilometres from the church lies the Bird-watching Trail in Kamień (Łączany), a good idea for a short walk after visiting the monuments.
