Postmodern parish church in Rybitwy from 1983-1995, with semicircular arcades and an unusual tower serving as a bell tower.
The Church of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary stands in Rybitwy, in Kraków's Podgórze, at ulica Półłanki 100. It is a postmodern church with an unusual silhouette, a parish church since 1970.
The parish was established in 1970. Construction of the church began in 1983, and the consecration took place on 15 October 1995. The designer was the architect Jerzy Petelenz.
Wikipedia describes the building as having no analogy in Kraków's sacred architecture. Gabled roofs of different heights divide it into three spaces, and a characteristic element outside and inside is the semicircular arcades. The tower, which serves as a bell tower, also has an unusual shape.
