A rectorial church in Gorzków built in 1948-1950 to a plan by the engineer W. Ścigalski, with chapel polychromy from 1953-1954.
The Church of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Gorzków is a Roman Catholic rectorial church in Bochnia County. It is a young building from the 1940s and 1950s.
In 1947 Fr Prof. Stanisław Łach, a native of Gorzków, bought a plot for the church from the heirs of Fr Tomasz Bajda. A year later construction began, to a plan by the engineer W. Ścigalski of Tarnów. The foundation stone was blessed in 1949 by Bishop Karol Pękala. The work lasted until 1950, and on 27 August of that year Fr Prelate Władysław Kuc, the parish priest of Bochnia, blessed the chapel. The first Mass in it was celebrated by Fr Władysław Lohn, also a native of Gorzków, the provincial of the Jesuits.
In 1953-1954 the polychromy of the chapel was painted by A. Żmuda of Kraków. By a decree of 28 September 2013 the Bishop of Tarnów established a rectorate in Gorzków, which has been in force since 1 October 2013.
