A parish church in Glisne, built as a chapel in 1977 despite a demolition order, with sculptures by a folk artist from Raba Niżna.
The church in Glisne began as a chapel in 1977 and has been a parish church since 2006. Its beginnings are tied to a story of the villagers' resistance to the authorities.
Construction began on the initiative of Fr Józef Karpierz. The authorities deemed the building unauthorised and issued a demolition order, but the villagers defended the church, which was blessed on 15 October 1977. The Fatima Chapel was added later, and in 2006, by decree of Bishop Stanisław Dziwisz, a parish was established in Glisne.
The decoration was designed by the Kraków architects Krystyna and Stanisław Juchnowicz, mainly in wood, steel and stone. The paintings, including the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in the main altar and Our Lady of the Partisans, funded by former Home Army soldiers, were painted by Jerzy Kolecki of Rabka. The sculptures, among them the Last Supper, the Stations of the Cross and a bas-relief of Our Lady of Częstochowa, were made by the folk artist Zdzisław Kościelniak of Raba Niżna.
From Glisne it is close to Luboń Wielki, about 2.4 km away, and in Rabka-Zdrój there is the Spa Park.
